I think that the problem for some people is that xml-dev often becomes
xml-phi.  That's not necessarily a bad thing, but the set of people
who like to build software and the set of people who like to debate
abstract issues intercept only to a small extent.

I doubt that an xml-phi list would prove all that popular, though,
since the philosophers need an audience other than each-other.
