I didn't compare them.  The CFP mentions ASN.1 because some people have
been experimenting with it; it wasn't intended to suggest anything
further, but to encourage a diverse response.  I couldn't give an
exhaustive list, because there isn't a limited set of possible ways
to share XML :-) so I mentioned two.  It's not at all clear to me that
they're mutually exclusive, too.

That may indeed happen at the workshop.
