Hi Emmanuil,
Emmanuil said:
All major vendors fall asleep untill they think they need to wake up.
Java is not a Sun-only thing. On the other hand, .NET is a MS only thing.
Didier replies:
What???? Who owns Java if not Sun? Sun always refused to bring the language
to a standard organism. A good chunk of the CLR engine (the basis for .net)
is becoming an ECMA standard. C# is an ECMA standard. This is why some
people are implementing a .net platform on Linux and porting C# on the same
platform. Please, don't serve us this bullshit of Sun being the good guy and
Microsoft the bad guy like in an old bad taste western movie. They are both
vendors with their own vested interests. Actually, Sun is keeping control
over Java. This latter is not owned by a standard organization or a
consortium.
Cheers
