FWIW, I stumbled on a c# compiler and, if I recall, a clr that runs on
BSD including Darwin, at Microsoft's site. And, there was news
yesterday, if memory serves well (which it sometimes doesn't), that MS
is moving to the IBM chip for its X-box. It would seem, to me, that
there is some evidence that .NET might eventually be as cross-platform
as is Java.
