   Re: [xml-dev] wacky XML

[ Lists Home | Date Index | Thread Index ]

With apologies to the KJB (which was 400 years old today):

011:001 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech, and of
one internet..

011:010 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that
they found a plain in the land of Silicon; and they dwelt
        there till the bubble broke..

011:011 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make XML and
specify it thoroughly. And they had XML for interop, and Java had they
        for mortar.

011:100 And they said, Go to, let us build us a virtual city and a 3D VR tower,
whose architecture may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a QName,
lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole WWW.

011:101 And the LORD Gates came down to see the virtual city and the 3D VR tower, which
        the children of geeks builded.

011:110 And the LORD Gates said, Behold, the people is one, and they have
all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing
will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

011:111 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that
they may not understand one another's speech.

011:1000 So the LORD Gates scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of
all the earth: and they left off to build thevirtual city.

011:1001 Therefore is the name of it called XML Binary; because the LORD Gates did
there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the
LORD Gates scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
