ebXML Registry Interoperability demo:

<< Oracle seems to be coming up on the rails fast. Interesting. Any
insights?
The XML 2004 demo of ebXML Registry with an Oracle app server and database
wasn't a first.
Oracle demoed ebXML registry / messaging with Oracle 9i app server and database
at a conference in 2001. What was interesting about the recent demo was the
heterogeneous mix of software and servers, including open source and commercial
products..
It's not surprising Oracle could demo ebXML software almost four years ago. It
has been heavily involved in organizations that create specs that are of
interest to this community:
- XML-related specs from the W3C and OASIS
- the INCITS/ISO SQL/XML standard.
Participating in those working groups gives Oracle [ IBM | Microsoft | Sun |
... ] an early view of what technologies may become important. Of course, those
organizations don't always agree and sometimes we get competing [specifications
| initiatives | technologies].
We're seeing that now with grid computing and grid services.
