I thought you knew...? :-)

One thing that we're actively working on in our open-source project is  
a compact price-triggering mechanism for SMEs for XML.

That is, small companies can receive a pricelist from suppliers, and  
it automatically triggers new pricelists to be recalculated and sent  
out to customers based on some configuration settings.

To a degree, it's not world first or anything like that. Because most  
accounting systems accept price changes and eventually a new pricelist  
gets sent out to customers. But it usually has to be driven manually.

But the theory/concept of this I believe is new. And deeply derived in  
xml/markup mysticism. That is, that a small business computer can  
automatically react, recalculate all prices, and redistribute (read no  
work) when a supplier price changes.

Our project is open source, and has developers spread across the world.

To be big (in a Sales sense), you really need v/c money which we don't  
have and aren't actively chasing. So we aren't going to be way big in  
2007...

But one thing is for sure out there in the business world, it's that  
there is no shortage of data these days. Convert just a chunk of it  
into xml and you suddenly have masses... more than anyone ever  
imagined could be.

Because these days, most (small) businesses throw away data (CDs +  
Spreadsheets) because they can't use it all....

And from the masses of data that nobody else is able to process..  
because it is just thrown away... I believe comes xml opportunities...

It's fairly simple stuff, but because the people who know the xml  
theory.. should sortof understand how the mechanics of what I am  
talking is working... it could be something new to try in 2007...
