Maybe that's why we don't get any messages from critters in the UFOs.  They
know we are here; they know they are there, but they are trying to figure
out which standard for saying "hello there from here" we are using and so
far common crop circles haven't worked, raining frogs haven't worked, and
the cosmic constant of blue screens haven't gotten the right
acknowledgements although they hold the most promise because we run round in
circles and that is pretty close to the common standard response.

They sent personal representatives, but the girls in England kiss them and
the Americans in the South fry their legs.

Whether OOXML in particular is in fact really a "standard", and if so in
what senses (e.g. is it an open standard?) are questions I won't comment on 
here.
