XMLStarlet seems to be abandoned

It seems XMLStarlet

http://xmlstar.sourceforge.net/
is abandoned. There are no reactions from the maintainers/developers to bug
reports anymore

and I failed to reach the maintainer/developers.

XMLStarlet is a very useful tool. Perhaps someone wants to take over
the project?
