application/xslt+xml -- and yes, I'm aware of that; I *really* meant 
text/xsl because that's what IE<=8 requires in the stylesheet PI, so 
it's not going to go away.

...actually, it *is* registered (and has been for some time I think)

I think a registration should say:

spec)
