Any XML editor worth its salt, e.g. Oxygen, will provide the same
level of comfort for any XML vocabulary, including you shopping list,
for which you provide a DTD or schema.

To me, it is one of the greatest values of XML that even in these situations, you can always open a text editor and create/edit the documents by hand.
