Not aware of a specification but CommerceQuest SA has/had a tool that does
it and integrates with MQSeries, the toolset is called XMSeries. I'm not
sure how much custom scripting it involves per copybook and how much is
automatic.

Subject: Cobol Copybooks to XML
Does anyone know of an existing specification for mapping Cobol
copybooks to
XML? Or is there even a tool that does this job?
