But if you have XML-tinted goggles on you can make anything look the same
(:-)
As is evidenced in the use of XML for:

- Data (*any*ML, ...)
- Meta-data (XML Schema, ...)
- Protocol (SOAP, UDDI, ...)
- Function interfaces (WSDL, XML-RPC, UDDI 2.0, ...)
- Presentation (XSL-FO, XHTML, WML, XUL, ...)
- Code (XSLT, XMLScript, ...)

To top it off, we seem to be slowly backing our way into the
Internet-variant of MVC (which is probably a good thing).

A lot of this stuff goes back to Lisp and Smalltalk and things we've spent
years trying so hard to forget... (:-)
