Let me add my strong support. I've long believed that default namespaces
are inherently *evil* in that they've done more to confuse the masses
than any other aspect of XML. This fundamental flaw seems to pollute
every new XML specification in some obscure way. If they didn't exist,
as Dare points out, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion (or
many others that pop up on this list). I wish they would just go away.
