Common vocabularies (or as I call them, Standard Data Vocabularies:
http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2002/05/29/perry.html) may provide interchangeability, but in the
internetwork topology that is a disadvantage, if not an outright danger. By attempting to enable
transactions by aping two-phase commit in a topology totally unsuited to the premises of it, the
proponents of interchangeable vocabularies have led us to a dead end of design, the misguided
products of which provide an unconscionable occasion of fraud.
