Re: [xml-dev] Is "markup" a noun or a verb? Do you "markup data" or "wrap data in tags"?

1) "markup" is a noun, "mark up" is a verb (as is "mark down")
2) I have seen "tagging" defined as
- applying markup to text
- inserting tags into text
- surrounding text with tags
and we are back where Roger started.
