"The Importance of XML, e-Government and
e-Business Standards"
The UK is a leading proponent of e-government and
interoperability standards. Besides e-GIF in the UK, there are important global
e-business initiatives (ebXML and UDDI) that are also based on XML. (ebXML is a
UN initiative.)
This open forum will include a panel discussion
about e-business and e-government interoperability standards, and the role of
government, standards bodies, consortia, and community processes in defining
standards for the 21st century. There will be open discussion with the audience
and panel members.
