IANA's not so brutal, but apparently pretty busy.
My urn:oid:1.3.6.1.4.1.6320 comes via a (free) IANA registry, not a
commercial provider. Pouring resources into IANA might solve a lot of
problems that can't be fixed by waving hands and proclaiming URIs the
answer.
