The core components of UBL are based on the same core components defined by
UN/CEFACT upon which EDI is based. UBL describes a
document/Internet-oriented approach to business transactions, compared to
the message/VAN orientation of EDI.
After two years of intense volunteer effort, the committee is now voting on
an imminent Beta 1.0 Committee Draft release for public review.
