W3C XML is Ten Years Old
- From: Liam Quin <liam@w3.org>

As others have noted, ten years agothe World Wide Web Consortium
published the Extensible Markup Language (XML) 1.0 as a
W3C Recommendation.
We'll be marking the anniversary year in various ways over the
coming twelve months, both online and at conferences.
See http://www.w3.org/2008/xml10/ for the birthday card.
A big thank you goes to all the people in the XML community
(and of course the SGML community) who made XML possible.
Liam (XML Activity Lead, W3C)
