By itself, RELAX NG in XML syntax is easy enough, even without a tool. The
compact non-XML syntax makes it even easier.
On the other hand, XML Schema is already made somewhat easier by the tools
that have adopted it. I only know of one tool so far that has adopted RELAX
NG (http://www.topologi.com), but RELAX NG is so easy to grasp, in my
opinion, that you don't need a tool to UNDERSTAND it, though it's handy to
have tools to manipulate it. XML Schema seems designed to force the use of
tools, given its complexity, which is a boon to those who produce
applications I guess.
As for me, when Trang [1] produces XML Schema output (hopefully soon), I
will just stick with RELAX NG's compact syntax to produce XML Schema results
as well. So why would XML Schema need a non-XML syntax? %^}
