Hi Jimmy,
Jimmy Said:
Well, I think there are already two groups of xml users appearing:
1) The group that uses xml for machine processing. Within this group
are
factions working on versions of "diet xml": SML, YAML and so on...
2) The group that uses xml for eventual human interaction.
Didier replies:
Can you expend on item (2). Do you mean xml document used as rendering
definition/instruction (in that case we reduce (2) into (1) ) or do you
mean the fact that xml documents can be read by human beings and
documents' readability then becomes the foreground preoccupation.
Jimmy said:
There are already several xml applications that cater to both groups.
MathML contains both presentation and semantic markup for machine
processing
and human reading (although OpenMath is better at describing the
semantic
parts).
Didier replies:
I would personally classify MathML as a rendering language. However I do
not know OpenMath and if I want to sleep less crazy tonight, do you have
a link to a good introduction of OpenMath. Thanks in advance to help me
become less stupid.
Cheers
Didier PH Martin
