There is the related, though slightly different

"Document-oriented XML versus Data-Oriented XML"

And I am sure we could get a XML Schema versus DTD versus RELAXNG versus 
Schematron thread started while we were at it. Of course all of this 
refactoring leads us to the "The W3C process is broken" permathread 
doesn't it? Bring on SML and SML-dev.
