That's right!

Whatever the merits of RDF, so-called RDF-XML was an utter and
complete crock, the slpadash result of happy-go-taggy weekenders
projecting their experience with tossing tags into Netscape and
Explorer.  But they were in the "Metadata Activity" which, at the
time, simply Could Do No Wrong.

Eliot Kimber wrote a paper on how the XML part of RDF could be done
with no new syntax, but unfortunately he used that dreaded word
"architecture", at the mere mention of which the W3C staff promptly
brought out the garlic and crosses, and that was that.
